Culture and student experience

The University of Southern Queensland is a young dynamic university dedicated to providing quality programs and degrees, and ensuring our graduates are given the best possible opportunities to succeed. We stand-out from the crowd because we are committed to seeing our students achieve academically and personally. While we are a regional university our perspective is global. Our degrees are relevant and our lecturers are leaders in their fields. USQ has a unique culture focusing on flexibility, small class sizes and support.

Flexibility

USQ has developed an international reputation as distance education experts. Over the years we’ve fine-tuned the delivery of our programs so that students who choose to study externally or online receive the same materials and support as those studying on-campus. We recognise that most people lead busy lives so we are committed to ensuring students get the most from their journey with us by remaining flexible and understanding.

Small class sizes

Small classes and personal attention mean our lecturers know you by name - and they want to see you succeed, just as much as you do. Our lecturers are leaders in their fields who, like our programs, stay up-to-date with the constantly changing face of industry and programs have been developed so you can make the most of your university experience.

Support and guidance

Our programs can accommodate even the most hectic lives. Every USQ student also has a personal support person. You will know them as your Student Relationship Officer (SRO), who will support and guide you through your time at USQ, giving you the opportunity to reach your full potential.

Diverse student population

USQ supports and brings together over 26 000 students studying both on-campus and online. With a diverse international student population of 7000 students, we offer a unique multicultural atmosphere for all students to enjoy.
