Staff

• 1,987 staff members are employed at USQ.
• Over 45% of the academic staff employed at USQ have a PhD and over 80% have received a Higher Degree.
• USQ houses a number of academically recognised experts across a wide range of academic and social fields.
• In a recent survey, students evaluated the teaching of USQ staff with an average score of 5.63 / 7.

Research

• There were over 43 research degree completions in 2008, which includes PhD and Research-Masters students.
• USQ received over $5,000,000 in research grants from external sources, such as the Australian Research Council, in 2007.

Learning experience

• The course pass rate (% of students which pass a course) is 81%.
• An average 'Student-to-Academic' ratio of 21 students per academic encourages a more personal relationship between each academic and their students, as well as smaller class sizes.

Programs offered

• USQ offers a wide range of programs, with over 95 undergraduate programs, 80 postgraduate programs and 14 research programs.
• The Tertiary Preparation Program (TPP) offered by USQ helps students to develop the skills they need to get into the university programs they want.
• USQ provides a number of unique and exciting programs for the modern age - such as the Bachelor of Applied Media program, the Bachelor of Accounting and Sustainable Business program and the Bachelor of Education program.

Community

• The well-known USQ Artsworx publicly showcases the skills and talents of local and international artists from the universities Faculty of Arts; such as the popular 'Shakespeare in the Park Festival' and the 'Twilight series' of concerts.
• Over 700 participants converge on the Toowoomba campus of USQ twice yearly for the hugely popular residential arts retreat 'The McGregor Schools'
• Every year USQ hosts the Darling Downs Regional Science and Engineering Challenge, which provides school students with a fun and competitive learning experience.
