The International Student Barometer

USQ International Student Barometer (ISB) results

USQ is committed to improve our International students’ education experience to make their time with the University more rewarding, irrespective of where and how they study with us.

After participating in the Transnational Student Barometer (TSB) pilot in 2008, USQ decided to participate in the International Student Barometer (ISB) earlier this year to survey our International Students studying in Australia.The ISB is a globalsurvey designed to gather information about international student’s experience, with 130 Universities world-wide and 30 Australian Universities participating. In Australia alone, approximately 31,000 international students responded to the survey.

It is with pleasure that we share with you of the excellent ISB results for 2010.

First of all, with 960 responses from USQ students, USQ had the highest response rate of all Australian universities. Not only does this mean that our results have a high level of statistical validity, it also highlights the high level of engagement from our students.

Overall USQ received the highest rating for all Australian Universities for Student Support Experience. In addition USQ rated 2nd for Learning, 2nd for Living and 2nd for Overall Experience based on the average of individual questions asked in these sections.

Whilst this survey does not directly relate to the students studying at our partners, the Student Support result is very similar to the results we received in the TSB survey in 2008. Furthermore we believe that aspects of the support and learning environment that our students receive in Australia is replicated by our partners.

The results are a reflection of our efforts to make international students feel welcome and supported whilst studying with USQ. We feel this also reflects how USQ values our international students, we look forward to continuing this effort, and hope that should any of your students wish to have a USQ Australian on-campus experience they will also experience the excellent student support, learning and living environments here at USQ.
