How USQ is organised

USQ is divided into a number of academic and administrative sections to ensure that the University operates within its legal framework, ensure that it remains as a leader in distance education and enhancing all aspects of being a university. 

There are three overarching areas of USQ to ensure its continuing operation - Governance and management, academic faculties and departments and non-academic support units. Further information on the organisational structure and committee structure is available.

Governance and management

The University's governing body is the Council. The Vice-Chancellor, Senior Management and the Senior Executive Team are responsible for overseeing the operation of the University. The University has several committees that assist with University governance, management, forming and maintaining USQ Policies. Faculties and departments

Each student belongs to a faculty (excluding students enrolled in non-award programs). There are five faculties at USQ which are responsible for implementing the academic programs offered by the University. Each faculty is headed by a Dean, who may be assisted by one or more Associate Deans. The USQ's faculties are:

    Non-academic units 

    There are a number of other sections of the University which also play a role in student administration and support. These include:

    • The Library, which provides students with access to reference materials for research and assignments.
    • Learning Resources Development and Support, which offers a range of services to staff involving teaching and learning activities to provide high quality learning resources to students.
    • Division of ICT Services, which provides information technology-related support to on-campus and off-campus students.
    • Office of Research and Higher Degrees, which manages USQ's research and higher degree activities, including the enrolment, progress and examination of all postgraduate research students
    • Student Management Division, which provides support to all students for the entirety of the student learning journey.
