Rules of Residency

When an offer of accommodation is made to a new student, it is made in accordance with the Rules of Residency (PDF 233 kb). Any student paying fees to accept a place in the Residential Colleges is deemed acceptance of the conditions prescribed by these Rules and applies for the duration of a student's residency within the Colleges. 

The Rules of Residency includes information about:

  • responsibilities of the Head of Residential Colleges
  • admission to colleges
  • contractual obligation
  • rules involving fees
  • rules applying to social behaviour
  • drugs and alcohol
  • visitors
  • cohabitation
  • parties
  • fire-fighting equipment
  • damages
  • illness and injury
  • cars, motorbikes and pushbikes
  • animals and pets
  • rules concerning discipline in the colleges.
