Accommodation
Comfortable single study bedrooms with heating are provided. Concannon College has 102 bedrooms where every two bedrooms share one bathroom.
Common rooms
For those times when studying may become too much, your common room is a good place to take a quick break before returning to the books. Each of the four Concannon accommodation blocks has its own common room which is a great place to relax watching television or a video or maybe fix yourself a snack from the fridge or microwave oven.
Computer and internet access
If you’ve got your own computer, you can access broadband Internet (4 GB per month on top of the normal on-campus student internet quota of 1 GB per month) and the USQ systems. If you do not have your own computer, USQ’s 24-hour computer labs are located on-campus just a few minutes walk from your college.
Telephones
If it seems too far to walk, or it’s just a quick question, free calls can be made from the telephone in each bedroom to anywhere within the university, that is, to fellow college friends or academic staff. If you wish to make an external call you will need a prepaid phone card which is available from the college office or the bookshop on-campus. If you’re out and about, you won’t have to worry about missing those important calls – the phone in your room is capable of voice mail functions.
Laundry
Linen is provided to you as part of your contract and is included in your weekly fee. The items provided can be laundered for you each week. However, personal items such as your clothing need to be done yourself. Coin operated washing machines and dryers are conveniently located within each of our residential blocks along with ironing boards and irons.
Recreation facilities
When you need a break from all the study and it’s time to stretch your legs - we’ve got some great facilities to help you relax and stay fit. Indoor facilities available in the recreation hall include table tennis and pool tables. Concannon also has large open grassed areas for volleyball, touch or any other sports you wish. You can also request a BBQ for your block on the weekends.
