Conferences and events

USQ Residential Colleges offer a range of facilities which are available for private conferences and events during student vacation periods (late February, early April, end of June to mid July and middle of September – see Important Dates). Our facilities are able to cater for a variety of conferences, functions, meetings, lunches and sporting events ranging in size anywhere up to 2800 people.

Venues available through USQ Residential Colleges include:

• Heathwood Room
  Located within McGregor College, the Heathwood Room is fully air-conditioned and can cater up to 55 people. Full table service and bar facilities are available, making this venue ideal for seminars.
   
• College Dining Rooms
  The dining room located in each of the three Colleges (McGregor, Steele Rudd and Concannon) have a capacity of up to 200 people. These spacious, open areas are equipped with comfortable seating with full table service catering and bar facilities available. These rooms are ideal for functions, lunches or award ceremonies.
   
• Allison Dickson Lecture Theatre
  Allison Dickson Lecture theatre is equipped with all of the necessary audio-visual technology and is fully air-conditioned. Its tiered, curved shape makes this venue excellent for conferences, presentations and award ceremonies.
   
• Indoor Recreation Centre
  The Indoor Recreation Centre is highly versatile and capable of comfortably holding 2800 people. This location is perfect for trade exhibitions, sporting events or even concerts.
   
• University Rooms
  There are a large number of rooms available throughout the USQ Toowoomba Campus able to cater anywhere from a small, intimate group anywhere up to 900 people.
   
• Japanese Gardens
  The Japanese Garden is located over 4.5 hectares and is Australia’s largest and most traditionally designed Japanese stroll garden. These gardens are divided into six areas and are a popular venue for weddings, photographs or just a peaceful walk.
   
• Student Guild Facilities
  The USQ Student Guild offers a number of facilities which are capable of accommodating group of 5 to 40. These facilities are ideal for meetings and small conferences.
   
• Sporting Ovals
  There are five full sized sporting ovals located around USQ Toowoomba Campus and are great places to hold outdoor and sporting events.

Currently, the USQ Residential Colleges cater for the following events:

• International Students Orientation Program (mid July)
• USQ Students Residential Schools (mid February, early-mid April and mid September)
• McGregor Summer and Winter Schools (early January and early July).
