FacilitiesAccommodationComfortable single study bedrooms with heating are provided. Residential Colleges provides ample well-lit and free parking for vehicles adjacent to the accommodation blocks. Storage rooms are also available. Genders are not mixed and the variation in fees depends on the extent to which bathroom facilities are shared.
Common roomsEach accommodation block has its own common room which is equipped with a television, video recorder, microwave oven and refrigerator. Computer and Internet AccessResidents are a few minutes walk to the University 24-hour computer labs which are available for undertaking assignment work and Internet and email access. Students who have their own computers can have broadband access to the University systems and Internet access from their own bedrooms. TelephonesTelephones with Voice Mail are available in each bedroom. All calls within the University are free of charge, including calls to other residents or faculty members. Prepaid phone cards must be used to make external calls and may be purchased from the College Office and the USQ Bookshop. LaundryLinen provided is laundered each week by the College. Personal washing is done individually by each student. Laundries are conveniently located in each residential building and have coin operated washing machines and dryers. Ironing boards and irons are provided free-of-charge in the laundries. Recreation facilitiesEach college has a dining hall containing a public address system and a piano. Indoor facilities at each college recreation hall include table tennis and pool tables, while outdoor facilities include a chess board, beach volleyball court and spacious grounds adjacent to rooms for social games of touch football and other sporting activities. Adjacent to the colleges are the facilities and services provided by the USQ Student Guild including outdoor tennis courts, the Clive Berghofer Indoor Recreation Centre and the USQ Student Club. Other University facilities within a few minutes walk include the Rugby Union Club, the Australian Rules Football Club, the Soccer Club and the Archery Club. |
