Accommodation

Comfortable single study bedrooms with heating are provided. McGregor College has 60 bedrooms each with their own bathrooms and a further 134 bedrooms where every two bedrooms share one bathroom.

Common rooms

Need to take a break from studying? Each of the McGregor accommodation blocks has its own common room which is a great place to relax watching television or a video, or maybe fix yourself a snack from the fridge or the microwave oven.

Computer and internet access

If you have your own computer, you can access broadband Internet (4 GB per month on top of the normal on-campus student internet quota of 1 GB per month) and the USQ systems. If you don’t have your own computer, USQ’s 24-hour computer labs are located on-campus – just a few minutes walk from your college.

Telephones

Free calls can be made from the telephone in each bedroom within the university, that is, to fellow college friends or academic staff. If you wish to make an external call, you will need a prepaid phone card which is available from the college office or the bookshop on-campus. To make sure that those important calls aren’t missed when you’re attending lectures or in the dining hall, each room’s phone is voicemail compatible.

Laundry 

Bed linen is provided to you as an extra each week. These items can be laundered for you weekly - however personal items such as your clothing need to be done yourself. Coin operated washing machines and dryers are conveniently located within each residential block, along with ironing boards and irons.

Recreation facilities

When you need a break from all the study, we’ve got some great facilities to help you relax. Available in the recreation hall are table tennis and pool tables. If you want to spend some time outside, why not have a go on the chess set, beach volleyball court or play some touch or another sport on the spacious grounds. BBQ facilities are also available upon request for weekends.
