Accommodation
Comfortable single study bedrooms with heating are provided. Steele Rudd College has 132 bedrooms where the private common bathroom facilities in blocks are shared between 8 to 15 other residents.
Common rooms
Each of the residential blocks on Steele Rudd have their own common room. Equipped with a fridge, TV, DVD, microwave and kettle, these areas are a great place to relax, have a snack or socialise with friends.
Kitchens
Self-catered facilities are available for students residing in A and B Blocks. The kitchens include a cook-top, oven, refrigerator, television, sink, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, storage cupboards, dining table and chairs. The self-catered option gives you the opportunity to prepare your own meals while still benefitting from the other services provided at Colleges.
Computer and internet access
If you already have your own computer, free broadband connection is available to you (4 GB per month on top of the normal on-campus student internet quota of 1 GB per month). If you do not have your own computer, USQ’s 24-hour computer labs are located on-campus – just across the road from your college.
Telephones
Free calls can be made from the telephone in each bedroom to any other university phone, that is to fellow college residents or academic staff. If you plan to make an external call a prepaid phone card is required and is available from the college office or the bookshop on-campus. The telephone in your room is also capable of a voicemail function, making sure you don't miss those important messages.
Laundry
Linen is provided to you as part of your contract, and these items are able to be laundered each week. Personal items, such as clothing, need to be laundered yourself. Coin operated washing machines and dryers are located within each of our residential blocks. Ironing boards and irons are available at no extra charge.
Recreation facilities
Steele Rudd College offers a range of recreational facilities and activities to its patrons. Pool tables and table tennis facilities are available for use in the recreation hall. Grassed areas, including a volley ball court, are also accessible to residents and are located in the areas surrounding the blocks. If desired, BBQ facilities are available residents use upon request.
