Improving Net Value of Enterprise Systems and Technologies (INVEST)
Effective information systems can contribute to corporate strategy and are essential for organisational sustainability. Organisations invest a significant proportion of their capital and operating budget on information systems and technologies and seek to achieve net value from this investment. It is recognised that information systems can add value to products (goods and services) and enterprise functions. The value proposition of information systems is improvement in efficiency, productivity, decision-making, service and organisational learning.
The INVEST research team are interested in investigating IT management and services to provide value-added improvements to organisations. We conduct academic research on current IT management issues and participate with the ICT industry to develop rigorous improvement artefacts that can be implemented in practice. Our ultimate goal is to explore and contribute to the standard of good practices in enterprise systems and technologies that improve business value.
Much of our work focusses on frameworks such as the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and international IT process assessment standards. We have collaborations with the IT Service Management Forum, Qld Health, Assessment Portal Pty. Ltd, CITEC, Toowoomba Regional Council and Griffith University.
