The Australian Digital Futures Institute (ADFI) is located within the USQ Division of Academic Information Services (DAIS).

DAIS organisation chart: The Distance and eLearning Centre, the Australian Digital Futures Institute and the Library all sit under DAIS

The ADFI focus is on eResearch, eLearning and global collaboration.

ADFI has two physical environments - the Software Research and Development Laboratory which accommodates the software research and development team, and the Technology Enhanced Learning Laboratory (TELL) which provides a facility for staff and students to investigate technology-enhanced learning innovations.

ADFI maintains a commitment to move towards an evenly-distributed future as is reflected in the Institute's aims and the research, development and consulting work of ADFI staff:

  1. To be guided by a sustainable social justice agenda, built on the OpenCourseWare movement and on Open Access research and Open Data.
  2. To engage with global collaborators and develop best practice for eResearch and eLearning.
  3. To contribute to the development of highly efficient and innovative services that underpin USQ's flexible learning and teaching systems and research priorities.
  4. To contribute to research and development related to flexible learning and the methodologies of eLearning, eResearch and eValuation.

The future is here, it's just not evenly distributed yet.
