Snehal Patel
Master of Engineering Technology 2006
Snehal would like to develop his career in the field of communication engineering after graduation. He worked as Transmission Engineer in India and submitted a paper to the International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS) in 2007.
Avril Priem
Bachelor of Arts (Journalism and Media) 1979
Although Avril majored in journalism, she decided to complete a Graduate Diploma in Education in 1981. Her history and literature studies with DDIAE (former USQ) enabled her to teach history and English. Avril taught in Mackay for six years then became a teacher-librarian after completing her Graduate Diploma in Teacher-Librarianship with QUT. She then moved to live in Canada for a year. After that, she worked in the education field in Tasmania for 10 years.
Avril is currently the teacher-librarian at her former high school on the Gold Coast. She married a Canadian and they have a daughter. In 2002, she co-wrote and published a book called 'It's a Kid's Life' which is about fun activities for families to do in Hobart.
Vidyalall (Vicky) Pudaruth

Vicky is doing her Master in healthcare education and management in UK with the University of London and Kingston after completing her studies with USQ. She is also doing an NVQ Level 4 leading to healthcare management (degree level) in London.
Vijayarengan Ramanuja-Chary
Master of Information Technology (Professional) 2006
After graduation at USQ, Vijayarengan returned to India to start his career in IT at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras for 2 years. Vijayarengan moved to New Zealand for a new job as Programmer & Computer Support at the Victoria University in Wellington in early 2008.
Shafiqur Rahman

Shafiqur Rahman has over 20 years experience in the airline industry since he first joined Biman Bangladesh Airlines in 1986. Shafiqur began his role as the Country Manager and was promoted to be the Dy General Manager (Commercial) after completing his Master of Business Administration degree with USQ in 2000. Shafiqur is currently in charge of the import and export cargo operation for the Biman Bangladesh Airlines. He is also busy with his Doctorate of Business Administration studies. |

Joe Roff

Business graduate, Joe Roff, is the third most capped player in Australian Rugby history. He was involved in three World Cups, including Australia's victory in 1999. Joe also played for Australia's most successful province over the past 10 years, the ACT Brumbies, where he helped his side win two titles, in 2001 and 2004. He has also taken a year out playing in Biarritz, France and also a year playing in Tokyo, Japan. Joe retired from professional rugby in 2006. He completed his degree in 2003, even thought it took longer than he had hoped, but that was due to the demands of rugby at the time.His first undergraduate degree has allowed him to continue his studies at Oxford University in England. Joe is currently working towards completing a politics, philosophy and economics degree in 2008. |
Mark David Ryan

Since graduating with first class honours, Mark has produced funded short films and most recently, worked on the documentary 'Spitfire Guardians' premiering on the History Channel in November. He has also had several articles published and is currently writing a PHD thesis on Aussie horror films: "A dark new world: the rise of contemporary Australian horror films". Mark is also currently a research associate at the Queensland University of Technology.
