The Faculty of Arts values its partnership with the community. The region's social and cultural profile is enhanced through a number of activities and events.

Literary activities

The Bruce Dawe national poetry prize has been endowed by Bruce Dawe, one of Australia's best-loved and most widely read poets, as an annual $1500 award to encourage poets throughout Australia.

Visual and performing arts

USQ Artsworx provides patrons within the Darling Downs the chance to experience a range of visual and performing arts including the Shakespeare in the Park Festival, the McGregor Schools, a Twilight  Recital and Seminar Series and an annual Children's Festival.
