Public Memory Research Cluster

The Public Memory Research Cluster coordinates a multi and transdisciplinary group of researchers working across the humanities from:

  • visual and performing arts
  • anthropology
  • history
  • literature
  • philosophy
  • communications
  • media studies
  • cultural and gender studies
  • sociology and international relations.

Main objective

The Public Memory Research Cluster's core research objective is to investigate the ways in which the past is archived, understood and utilised by contemporary societies. The Cluster undertakes research which is internationally and nationally significant in quality; but it is also interested in local and regional opportunities, affirming the University's service commitments to the cultural life of its region.
