How to apply
Applicants will need to:
An audition, interview and music skills test are required for entry into the Bachelor of Creative Arts – Music major. In certain circumstances, video auditions will be accepted, with interview conducted by phone.
Interview / audition dates
- Applicants applying for more than one major may attend their interviews on the same day.
- Music applicants auditioning in Toowoomba will need to provide their own accompanist (if applicable).
- Music applicants auditioning in Springfield may submit an unedited DVD performance of two contrasting works, two weeks prior to the interview date.
- In extreme circumstances relating to distance etc, it is possible to organise a telephone interview. For further information, please contact the School of Creative Arts administrator on telephone +61 7 4631 1121.
Toowoomba
There is no fee for interviews held in Toowoomba.

USQ Springfield - Available to applicants in all majors
There is no fee for interviews held at the Springfield Campus.

Interview/audition Requirements
- Recommended successful completion of at least Grade 3 Theory or Musicianship (AMEB) or equivalent
- At least HA for QSA Music for Year 11 and 12
- Approximately Grade 7 standard (AMEB), depending on instrument
- Instrumental and Vocal Applicants: Audition (two contrasting items); short aural, theoretical and general knowledge tests
Each applicant must bring to their interview:
- A passport-sized photo of themselves
- A school exit statement or evidence of previous education standard achieved
- Folio of achievements and references
