Policy and procedures for assignment submission for courses delivered on-campus


This Faculty of Arts Policy Statement is to be read in conjunction with the Assessment Policy, USQ Policy Library.

  1. Assessment items for on-campus courses are to be submitted no later than 12.00pm on the due date to the Faculty Assessment Centre on the Ground Floor of the Phoenix Building, Q Block. 
      
  2. Examiners are responsible for advising students of the Faculty's policy for submitting assignments for courses delivered oncampus.
       
  3. Students enrolled in on-campus courses are to ensure assessment items are submitted by the due date. Late penalties may be incurred. Examiners are responsible for advising students of the policy for late submission of assignments.
       
  4. Students enrolled in on-campus courses are to obtain assignment cover sheets from their Examiner/tutor during class.
       
  5. Students enrolled in on-campus courses are to submit their assignment with the appropriate cover sheet attached to the outside of the assignment to allow for immediate scanning.
       
  6. An assignment submitted without the appropriate cover, shall be deemed `not received' and returned to the student's address as registered on the student system. The `late penalty' shall apply until the student re-submits the assignment in the appropriate form.   
       
  7. Students enrolled in on-campus courses are to be advised by the examiner that when an assignment consists of several items, for example, a CD and an essay – all items must be individually labelled and kept together securely when placed in the assignment submission box.
        
  8. Normally, assignments are to be submitted no later than 12.00pm on the due date unless it is advised otherwise in the course specifications. Assignments received after 12.00pm or the deadline will be deemed received the next working day.
        
  9. All assignments submitted will be recorded on the Gradebook system so that students will be able to track the assignment's receipt.
        
  10. Students must keep a copy of their assignments. Computer hardware failure will not be accepted as a reason for not being able to produce a copy of an assignment.
       
  11. The Faculty shall normally return marked assignments to students within three weeks of the due date.
       
  12. Assignments marked prior to the end of semester normally will be distributed in class. 
      
  13. Students will be able to collect assessment items marked at the end of the semester during the exam period from the lecturer.
         
  14. Assignments not collected by the last day of the semester will be kept for three months and then destroyed.
