Creative Media
Creative Media (incorporating Multimedia) combines new media technologies with creative arts to produce a graduate ready to step into the new media industry of the 21st century. Creative Media provides a unique opportunity for new media artists and producers interested in exploring the potential of stories within a new technology and new media world.
Program focus
The program provides a creative environment for students interested in the artistic use of computer driven digital technologies. There will be focus on conceptualizing, designing and applying self generated projects sustained upon a firm technological base and professional application. Students will work:
- in the field
- the television studio
- sound studios
- design and computer labs to release their projects.
Students wishing to undertake an eight-course major in multimedia will also be able to do so in this degree, coupled with courses from Creative Media to create a fully rounded media-savvy graduate.
Areas of study
Students will study a unique combination of courses in:
- digital sound
- image and visual technologies
- design
- creative writing
- multimedia.
First and second year are dedicated to the development of the students own creativity and the acquisition of applied expertise in vision, sound, and multimedia technologies. Third year will focus on original projects enabling students to apply industry standards to ensure their professional success.
