 Program information

The Theatre Program offers:

  • an exciting range of learning options and career pathways
  • provides extensive opportunities for creative practice and performance
  • a comprehensive selection of courses in dramatic theory

In the first two years of a degree, students are supervised through a range of practical projects incorporating:

  • children's and young peoples' theatre
  • community theatre
  • video production
  • an introduction to the basic working language of the modern actor.

Auditions and interviews

Students undertaking Acting or Stage Management will audition/interview for these specialties at the completion of their 1st year of the Theatre discipline, and continue their major in either area throughout 2nd and 3rd years of the degree.

Career opportunities

The Theatre Program is all about career opportunity. Students are in ongoing consultation with staff regarding their career aspirations. Course options are chosen to support those goals.

  • public relations
  • and arts theory across all disciplines are readily available.

This degree allows students to develop skills in their main area of practice or discipline, and augments that with a secondary specialisation that maximises career opportunity.
