Option studies provide students with an opportunity to widen their knowledge and perspectives through enrolment in a subject area related to, or independent of, their major study.

The Indigenous Studies Major complements all other majors in the Faculty of Arts and enhances career opportunities in the public, private and mining sectors as they pertain to programs and initiatives specific to Indigenous populations. Many online resources provide access to information for Indigenous Studies students.

Whilst they are on-campus, Indigenous Studies students will have access to a number of special rooms and facilities available for their use. The Centre for Australian Indigenous Knowledges (CAIK) is situated on the south-west section of the Toowoomba Campus, off Baker Street.
