Jennifer Herd
Jennifer is an Aboriginal woman whose family connections lie in the far North of Queensland where her mother and grandmother are from. Jennifer completed a Certifacte in Fashion Design from Queensland College of Arts at Seven Hills. After working in theatre and fashion, she completed a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) from the Queensland University of Technology. In recent years, Jennifer has made the shift from costume making to installation, painting and sculpture.
Jennifer is currently the Convenor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art at the Queensland College of Art. In 2003, she completed a Master of Visual Arts winning the Queensland College of Arts Graduate Sudents prize; the Theiss Art Prize.
Jennifer is current and founding member of ProppaNOW Artists Collective.
