Graduart 2013

Curator Alexis Tacey

The Visual Arts at University of Southern Queensland provides an exciting and innovative environment for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the active regional art centre of Toowoomba.

Students undertake studio-based research of a high standard in a breadth of genre and media under the guidance of committed staff who are eminent artists, arts managers and theoreticians in their chosen field.

Discipline areas within the department are Ceramics, Spatial Construction, Painting, Printmaking and Linear Construction and Arts Management, with integrated links to Multi-Media, Theatre and Music.

Students at USQ are encouraged to develop interdisciplinary activity within all studios and forms of artistic practice, which is reflected in the current climate of the arts industry.

This is further developed under the new School of Creative Arts, as students are able to develop a hybrid-interdisciplinary practice enabling them to further develop and enhance their ideas and professional aims.

This exhibition represents the culmination of research by graduating students in their chosen area of visual arts practice.
