The Director: Barbara Lowing
Barbara Lowing is the first Queensland graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
Since her graduation in 1986, she has worked all over Australia and internationally. She has performed with Queensland Theatre Company (QTC), Melbourne Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre Company, South Australian Theatre Company (SATC), Hole in the Wall Theatre Company, Matrix, La Boite, Queensland Arts Council and the Performers Independent Theatre Company and has been affiliated with the Sydney Theatre Company.
In 2006, she travelled Australia with QTC's 20th anniversary production of Away. She was last seen at QTC in 2007, in Hamlet - a co-production with SATC.
Barbara is also a voice-over artist who lends her voice to radio advertisements and award winning documentaries that have been screened the world over.
Barbara has contributed to the creation of over thirty new works for the Australian stage.
In 2007, she won a Theatre Critic's Matilda Award for Best Actress and two MEAA/Equity awards for Best Actress and Best Ensemble Cast for Away and a Goldie Award for Best Commercial Voice-over Artist, Queensland.
Barbara has been a proud Equity member since 1987.
