Princesses Characters

Charlie

Charlie is the main character of the story, he is a sweet young boy living on a small farm by himself.  He has no parents and has no friends.  He grows what vegetables he can and makes a living by selling roses in the near by markets.  His only skill in life is his ability to solve riddles.  His life so far is far from meaningful or eventful but that is all about to change once his life crosses paths with that of the 12 dancing princesses.  With the help of two hungry mice and the advice of a wise old lady he sets off to help a fading kingdom.  If the princesses don't dance the roses won't bloom and the kingdom shall fall.
Squeak and Sneak- These two lovable characters are what we would call the comic relief.  Always up to mischief with never enough food in their bellies, these two mice live their life meal by meal rather than day by day.  Until one day they meet Charlie, who they see as their ticket to their next meal but instead find themselves going along for the ride as they attempt to help Charlie in his quest.

The Old Lady

A wise old lady who prophesises that Charlie would be the one to solve the riddle and save the 12 dancing princesses.  She gives advice, and the odd magic item, and helps Charlie on his way.
The King- The King, of cause, is ruler of all the land but there is a problem; his kingdom is falling and he cannot work out why.  If he cannot stop this happening, than his kingdom will be lost.  His pride and joy are his daughters, especially his favourite daughter, Molly.  All he wants is a successor to his throne, a male successor.  Many princes come from across the land to prove themselves worthy of one of his daughters' hand in marriage, but the King being very protective of his daughters has not yet found anyone to be worthy and has left those not worthy to be beheaded.

Molly

Molly is one of the 12 princesses.  She would be what you would call the ‘runt of the litter'. Never the less she is kind, generous and above all honest.  Her eleven sisters are not so fond of her, mainly because she has proven to be Daddy's favourite.

Others

There are many other characters in this play including, the other eleven princesses, the princes trying to win the Kings approval, the lady in waiting, and the guards and bearers.  Although their parts may not be as prominent as Charlie's or Molly's, they all play a vital role in either helping or hindering Charlie on his journey to the Golden Palace, where he is heading to solve the mystery of the 12 Dancing Princesses.
