The Ugly Duckling

The Ugly Duckling: A Most True and Very Real Telling, adaptation by Scott Alderdice and directed by Allie Stapleton.

The Ugly Duckling is a modified adaptation of the popular children's story of the same name, however with the added twist and humour of other well-known fairytales weaved throughout the play, including Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. With delightful comedy and relevant themes, this play is suitable for a younger audience; however older primary and secondary students will enjoy the performance alike. Children will love the larger than life characters and the fun ways the other fairytales are included in the story of The Ugly Duckling.

These Teacher Notes have been supplied to allow you and your class to get the most out of The Ugly Duckling, and enjoy the play to its full potential by providing activities and information to consider and implement before and after the performance.
