People combating terrorismThere are many groups who work tirelessly to combat terrorism and those affected by it.
Human Rights Watch is an independent organisation that campaigns internationally for human rights. It ensures that basic human rights are upheld and by doing this Human Rights Watch is able to ensure people are given the oppressed and marginalised the opportunity to be represented.
Organisations like the United Nations and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) are responsible for ensuring children are not used as soldiers in armed conflict. In accordance with international law they work to prevent this use of children and help those who need rehabilitation to adjust back to ordinary life following extreme violence.
The Peace and Reconciliation Group in Northern Ireland is aimed at bridging the cultural divide and encouraging peace following the end of the troubles. There are also groups involved in the Palestine Israel conflict who are dedicated to facilitating discussion for a fair peace process and ensuring understanding between the different groups.
