Lawyers and Their Ethics

A range of research on the legal profession, legal practice, lawyers’ ethics and the social role of lawyers is undertaken in the USQ law school. The School has a special emphasis on legal practice in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia. Mark Byrne and Reid Mortensen are undertaking funded research on the reservation of conveyancing work to solicitors in Queensland, and whether it helps to sustain the practice of law in regional Queensland. Caroline Hart is undertaking doctoral research on a broader project in this field: The Sustainability of Regional and Remote Law Practices in Queensland.
