The property sector in Australia has experienced unprecedented growth and created numerous opportunities for a career in an exciting and creative industry. One of the challenges for property executives is to develop new concepts to increase the effectiveness of decision-making within their organisations. The industry is still young and vibrant, and research is helping to develop new and exciting models of practice which are leading to a new professionalism in a highly profitable industry.
USQ's Faculty of Business and Law offers a variety of programs and courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Our postgraduate Master of Business (Property) program provides a concise, focused program that considers all aspects of property, including the development of new property projects, ownership and management of property assets, and consideration of the legal environment in which projects are managed. The program requires study of four core courses [subjects] to provide essential skills in property, plus elective elective courses to allow students to explore related areas of interest.
Study in property development can assist in gaining promotion within the property industry, or assist in a transition to the industry from related disciplines, where practitioners can benefit from studies of the property industries and how it functions. Related industries include town planning, urban and regional planning, surveying, architecture, engineering, construction, finance, law, marketing, and real estate.
The university also provides job searching and career planning advice for students who are looking for a job in their field.
Completion of this program can assist in gaining membership of organisations such as the Property Council of Australia, the Urban Development Institute of Australia, the Australian Property Institute and other. Please contact the individual organisations for advice on membership.
