BUS3000 - Work Integrated Learning

The Faculty of Business offers a work integrated learning course, BUS3000. The purpose of this course is to provide the opportunity for students to experience the applied aspects of working in their area of major study. It allows them to improve their learning by the application of the concepts, theories and graduate skills developed in their study to workplace activities. It will encourage a reflective approach to the development of workplace skills. It is envisioned that the experience will enhance a full-time student's post-graduation employment prospects or capture the experience of those students who are already in work in the form of a project that relates their practice to theory.

Students will then be able to:

  • Develop and demonstrate an awareness of how theory is implemented in their workplace
  • Apply the concepts and theories of their major area of study to their workplace activities and responsibilities
  • Develop and demonstrate transitions skills which will equip students to make a positive contribution to their workplace
  • Develop and demonstrate workplace communication skills, oral and written.
  • Develop and demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a group in their workplace
  • Make a positive contribution to the goals of the organisation in which they are working
  • Develop and demonstrate skills that allow them to be a productive, effective member of an organisation
