Below is an overview of results from the 2008 survey of USQ business students titled The Whole of University Experience: retention, attrition, learning and personal support interventions during undergraduate business studies.

What you told us we are doing well

• The quality and delivery of our courses
• The online environment including discussion boards, emails and online delivery of courses
• Helpful and friendly teaching and administrative staff

What you told us that we could do better

• Ensure timely and helpful responses to email and discussion board questions for all courses
• Improve guidance, feedback and turnaround times for assignments
• Provision of academic learning support and tertiary preparation programs

Key themes

• The importance of having a sense of community associated with the University
• Difficulties experienced with balancing work, family and study commitments
• The need to acclimatise to university study

What we are doing to make improvements

• The Student Relationship Officer role has been specifically designed to give students a single point of contact for all (non-academic) matters relating to the student learning journey
• Development of best practice  mentoring and procedures, and implementation and further development of the USQ Minimum Standards for StudyDesk Use Policy
• Communication of information about the resources and support available to students through USQLife and the Faculty of Business News and Events linked page/s
• Exploring ways of making further improvements in several key areas
