Step-by-step guides for students

For helpful advice on what your next step should be, go to the:

International students

Approximately 7,400 international students of more than 120 nationalities are currently studying at USQ via three modes of study: on-campus, off-campus and online. As an international university, we recognise the specific needs of our international students.

TAFE students

We recognise prior learning when admitting students and award them maximum possible credits towards a qualification, once their qualifications have been assessed. The amount of credit you might receive varies but as a general rule, your TAFE Diploma may give you six to eight exemptions (up to a whole year of study) towards a degree.

Mid-year orientation ('O' week)

The Faculty of Business would like to welcome you to the Faculty family. We hope you have an enjoyable and rewarding experience with USQ.

Support from university staff and students, especially in the early days, will be of invaluable assistance in making you feel part of the USQ and Faculty of Business community. It is important to make the most of orientation. Take the opportunity to find out about the different teaching and learning processes of the university, familiarise yourself with your new surroundings, pick up details about your program and get to know staff and other new students. Orientation is the official start of the university year, so it's important that you come along. A copy of the Faculty's mid-year orientation program (PDF* 1.36 Mb) and guide for first-year students (PDF* 594 kb) is available.
