ITAS

The Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS) is an academic support program provided by the Department for Education Science and Training (DEST). The purpose of this scheme is to provide tutorial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying in any program or course at USQ or the Centre for Australian Indigenous Knowledges. There is no cost to the student for this service, as payment to tutors is administered by DEST.

Students undertaking their first year of study are particularly encouraged to utilise this service. Even students who are not experiencing any problems with their studies may access the service, with the aim of achieving greater success in their studies. The tuition sessions can be either individual, or with a group of students studying the same course or program.

The ITAS Coordinator can arrange tutors for a broad range of program areas. Tutorial assistance is tailored to meet the particular needs of the individual student or group of students.

To apply for tutorial assistance please complete the (PDF 40 KB)ITAS Student Application Form . For further information regarding ITAS please contact the ITAS Coordinator at the Centre for Australian Indigenous Knowledges on +61 7 4631 2763.
