Programs and courses

The Centre for Australian Indigenous Knowledges delivers a number of Indigenous courses and programs. These courses and programs focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and have been designed by Indigenous staff, in consultation with the Indigenous community. The Centre's academic staff teach these programs to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students.

The programs and courses currently offered by the Centre are:

  • Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Program (IHEPP) 
    IHEPP is a bridging program designed to give Indigenous students the necessary skills to succeed in undergraduate programs offered by USQ.
        
  • Indigenous Studies Courses
    These courses are designed to provide students with an understanding of Australia's Indigenous peoples and their cultures. These courses can be undertaken as part of the continuing and professional education program.

  • Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Mental Health and Well-Being
    Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Mental Health and Well-Being is an innovative program designed for both non-Indigenous and Indigenous health workers in order to improve their care of Indigenous clients. The program focuses on developing an understanding of Indigenous Australian health issues, with particular emphasis on culturally appropriate intervention strategies. Delivered via USQ's internationally awarded distance education program, you can study anywhere, anytime.
