End of Trip Facilities
Work is now complete on the End of Trip Cycling Facilities on the Toowoomba Campus.
Centrally located at the east end of Y Block and the southern side of D block, the facilities offer undercover storage for up to 88 cycles. The facilities are equipped with lockers, showers, toilet amenities and the latest security technology.
There is no charge associated with the use of the facilities. Staff and Students are eligible to use the facilities, however only regular users (three days or more per week) will be permanently issued an access card and locker key. Casual users are eligible for a daily access card and locker subject to availability (a number of places will be reserved to allow for casual users, however on any given day these reserved spaces may be exhausted).
Rules of use
The issue of ‘regular use’ access places will be on a first come first served basis.
- Although the facilities are equipped with state of the art security systems, the security of personal belongings is the responsibility of the owner, please ensure all bikes are securely stored using an appropriate locking device and lockers are locked when not in use.
- No guarantee is given to the availability of your preferred facility.
- Access will expire at the conclusion of each calendar year or if no use is registered for two months.
- Lost and/or damaged cards or keys may attract a replacement fee.
Background
The End of Trip Cycling Facilities were developed in conjunction with the Toowoomba Regional Council’s Cycle and Pedestrian Strategy and the facilities offer a greener, healthier commute to work and reduce carbon emissions.
In keeping with the University’s carbon neutrality goal the facilities feature a number of environmentally sustainable features such as solar hot water, photovoltaic power and rainwater harvesting.
