Springfield campus parking
Education City is responsible for car parking on-campus. Please contact them if you have any specific questions.
Paid parking has been introduced and is being managed through Pripark. In order to park at USQ Springfield you must purchase a ticket or have a valid permit, and display it prominently on the dashboard of your car so that it can be seen through the front windscreen. This applies 24 hours a day Monday to Friday, and failure to comply may result in a $33 charge being issued. There is no payment required for parking on Saturday or Sunday.
Where to park
Students and regular visitors can use parking area 3 at the front of the campus, and area 2 behind the accommodation buildings.
Staff with permits and authorised visitors on USQ business are to use parking area 5 at the front or the section marked 'staff parking' in area 3. Please observe the markings for designated and reserved spaces. If no spaces are available in this area then staff are allowed to use general parking.
Parking area 4 behind the main building is not to be used by USQ staff or students. This area is reserved for World Knowledge Centre tenants, and parking here may result in a $33 charge.
See the campus map for locations of each parking area.
On Sinnathamby Boulevard itself, please refer to the public signage for information about parking restrictions.
For cyclists there are a number of bike racks located around the campus. There is no charge to use them at any time.
Disabled Parking
Three bays in parking area 5 are available for staff and students who hold a Queensland Transport Disabled Persons Parking Permit or similar permit issued by an equivalent authority in another state. This permit must be displayed when parking in these bays. There is no charge for using these bays.
Tickets and permits
Ticket machines are located at the entrance to each parking area. The cost is AU$1.00 for up to three hours and AU$2.00 for up to 12 hours. Park your car first and then purchase a ticket. Please do not stop to purchase a ticket when you enter the carpark as this will lead to congestion. Display your ticket on the dashboard of your car where it can be easily seen from the outside through the front windscreen.
USQ staff approved to be employed at Springfield Campus as their primary workplace are eligible for permits at no charge. You can apply for one at Level 1 Administration. Permits must be prominently displayed on the dashboard at all times.
Authorised visitors coming to Springfield Campus on USQ business, including staff travelling in USQ vehicles from other campuses, can apply for a reserved car park by contacting Level 1 Adminstration on +61 7 3470 4100. Upon confirmation, a parking bay number will be allocated and a 'reserved' marker placed in the bay. When you arrive at the campus, please place the marker on the grassed area in front of the bay. As these car parks are in a permit-free zone, there is no need for anything to be displayed on the dashboard.
Charges and disputes
Pripark manage the paid car parking on-campus. If they have issued you with a parking charge then please go to the Pripark web site to obtain information about paying it. Similarly, if you dispute the charge this can also be lodged from their web site.
