Student information

Each year major organisations that employ graduates commence their recruitment rounds at the beginning of the final year of students' degrees. Australian universities host employers from the public and private sectors to promote their graduate programs to students.

When is Career Fair?

The 2013 Career Fair will be held in the USQ Toowoomba Refectory from 10.30am - 2.00pm on Wednesday, 13 March.

What organisations are coming?

Careers & Employment are currently accepting registrations from organisations wishing to attend the 2013 Career Fair.

Students will have an opportunity to talk directly with the staff that perform the selection and recruitment for their organisation. This is a golden opportunity for all students (graduating and continuing) to network with employers, research available jobs, collect application information and learn how to improve your chances of gaining a graduate program.

When do graduate programs close?

Most of the large organisation recruit in March/April and make final offers to students by June/July. These successful students can then relax with the knowledge that they have a job waiting for them in January of the following year.

What if I am not graduating this year?

Career Fair is not an event for just final year students. Students from all cohorts can gain valuable information from the Career Fair about how to prepare for the world of work. Students can gain information not only about Graduate Programs, but also speak to organisations about Vacation Employment, Cadetships, Internships and Work Experience Opportunities. Employer delegates can also provide you with useful information on how to improve your employability skills and enhance your prospects of gaining employment.

What if I am not on-campus?

Students unable to attend Career Fair will have access to equivalent career oppotunities offered online through the Hall of Companies, by accessing opportunities advertised on USQ CareerHub, and via support from Careers & Employment.

The Career Fair is organised by USQ Careers & Employment.

What if my discipline area is not represented at Career Fair?

Not all discipline areas will be represented at Career Fair. Careers & Employment endeavour to invite major employers from across all discipline areas, however not all organisations attend Career Fair’s to recruit graduates. If your discipline area is not represented at Career Fair it doesn’t mean that there are no jobs in your area.
