Natural fibre reinforced thermoset composites

The main objective of this research work is to investigate interfacial adhesion characteristics between the natural fibre and thermoset resins. Moreover, numbers of surface treatment will be applied and different fabrication methods (such as hand lamination, vacuum infusion and resin infusion) will be utilized to evaluate mechanical, chemical and thermal properties of the natural fibre reinforced polymer composites. Morphological analysis will also be carried out to evaluate the degree of adhesion between the fibre and the matrices. Correlation among the structural composition of the fibre with different surface treatment effects will be investigated in terms of mechanical and thermal property analysis of the composites.
