Articles highlighting the achievements and initiatives of members of the Computational Engineering and Science Research Centre include:

  • Lecturer appointed to prestigious committee - USQ engineering senior lecturer Dr Paul Wen has being recognised as a leader in his field after he was appointed as a councillor of the Institute of Complex Medical Engineering (ICME).

  • Excellence in research awards - The USQ academic board and council recently conferred 2007 Excellence in Research Awards to Dr Nam Mai-Duy, Dr David Turnbull and Associate Professor Joachim Ribbe.

  • ARC bonus for USQ researchers - Last year USQ had a most successful round of Australian Research Council grant applications, with a total of four grants awarded for funding in 2005 and a fifth on reserve.

  • $260,000 for power engineering course development - USQ's power engineering program received a boost recently after a team from the University secured $260,000 worth of funding from the Power Engineering Alliance (PEA) to develop courses in the discipline.

  • Partnership to improve mobile phone technology - A new partnership between USQ and a leading Chinese university is set to enhance wireless communications technology.
