The Faculty of Arts values its partnership with the community. The region's social and cultural profile is enhanced through a number of activities and events.

Literary activities

The Bruce Dawe national poetry prize has been endowed by Bruce Dawe, one of Australia's best-loved and most widely read poets, as an annual $1500 award to encourage poets throughout Australia.

Visual and performing arts

The USQ Artsworx provides patrons within the Darling Downs the chance to experience a range of visual and performing arts including, Shakespeare in the Park Festival, the Twilight Series and Breez Finance Children's Festival.

McGregor Summer School

The McGregor Schools are a major contribution by USQ to the cultural, creative and artistic life of the local region and the State of Queensland. In meeting the needs of their clients, the Schools are committed to excellence in teaching, programming and administrative management and to commercial imperatives.
