The Brolga Project

Want to take the hassle out of finding work experience? Let's try to find you a regional/rural opportunity.

'The Brolga Project' is a new, developing initiative which is offering university students the opportunity to complete their work experience with businesses in rural and/or regional Australia. It's simple logic around a great idea - many university students often have to do short-term work experience as part of their curriculum; rural and regional Australia is suffering an enormous skills and labour shortage.

This project links students needing work experience with businesses who are prepared to offer short-term work placement. The purpose is that hopefully the student will enjoy the experience enough to return to the business at the completion of their studies, the start of their career. Not all of these work-placement positions will be unpaid, in fact many businesses are willing to recompense students.

Most uni students are from metropolitan areas, and have never had the opportunity to experience life or work in Australia's rural or regional areas. These areas offer vast experiences and opportunities, and a terrific way of life. 'The Brolga Project' offers students an opportunity to try that lifestyle and experience for themselves.

Almost any student should be able to be placed into a regional area as the project grows. Marine Scientists, vets, chefs, admin staff, engineers, accountancy, financial advisors, marketers and journalists are just some of the areas where students could be placed.
