USQ Communities of Practice

In an innovative approach to fostering teaching and learning quality at USQ, to support staff and to enhance professional development, the following Communities of Practice have been established:

• Community of Practice for Tablet PCs and Pen Enabled Technologies (CoPT) 
• Engineering Education Research Group (EERG)  
• Faculty of Arts (FoA) 
• Faculty of Business and Law CoP (FBL) 
• Faculty of Sciences CoOP
• First Year Experience CoP (FYE CoP)
• Learning and Teaching Support CoP 
• Learning and Teaching Research and Publication Syndicate (FoA)   
• Library CoP (LibCoP)  
• Research Supervisors (CoP-RS) 
• Staff on Study (SoS) 
• Student Equity CoP (SECoP).   

The program was initiated as a project in 2006. Faculty based CoPs open professional conversations on learning and teaching issues and support staff through common challenges. CoPs provide contextualised professional development and enable the sharing of practice for academic and professional staff.
