USQ COP project

 USQ CoP project team
The USQ CoP Project team with the Dean of Business (Allan Layton), the then Dean of Arts (Maurice French), the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) Lynne Hunt, and the Dean of Students (Rod St Hill)

In an innovative approach to fostering teaching and learning quality at USQ, a CoP to support staff and to enhance professional development has been piloted within:

The project was initiated in 2006. Each faculty CoP focuses on the challenges facing first year courses and is facilitated by a faculty staff member and a Learning and Teaching Support Unit (LTSU) staff member.

Faculty based CoPs open professional conversations on learning and teaching issues and support staff through common challenges.  CoPs provide contextualised professional development and enable the sharing of academic teaching practice.

Interested in establishing a COP?

Your Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) can contact Dr Jacquie McDonald (Project Leader and LTSU Facilitator) to discuss processes and strategies for initiating the process.
