RATIONALE

With the emergence of the 'knowledge' or 'information society', education/training professionals face new opportunities and new challenges in all dimensions of their professional lives. The future, whatever it may be, is not there to be discovered - it is for us to invent and design, thus making learning an essential, ongoing, active 'part of life'. The implications of a genuine commitment to lifelong learning for all involved in education and training, both personnel and organisations, are essential areas for informed educational review and debate.

SYNOPSIS

This course will build on participants' existing educational knowledge of, and experiences as, lifelong learners. Participants will be expected to practise learner-managed learning and access, analyse, synthesise, evaluate and debate data from a range of sources relevant to current issues associated with lifelong learning. The learning will be interactive and generative, requiring learners, as members of learning community, to reflect upon and challenge their thinking on education/training. NOTES: 1. This course (FET8607) is available through INTERNET DELIVERY ONLY. There are NO print materials for this course. 2. For details of the technical requirements and accessing Internet study materials, please consult the following URL: http://usqconnect.usq.edu.au.
