State law in Queensland (Australia) requires that all adults working/undertaking professional experience/researching with children under the age of 18, in the state of Queensland are required to possess a current suitability card (Blue Card). (See "Other Requirements" for further information.) Also see: http://www.childcomm.qld.gov.au/employment/bluecard/informationSheets.htmlRATIONALE
The Internet provides language learners with a rich and varied computer-assisted language learning (CALL) environment. The rapid growth of the Internet, particularly the widespread use of the World Wide Web, has generated great interest in Internet-based language instruction (IBLI) among CALL researchers and practitioners and allowed L2/FL teachers to use computer-mediated communication (CMC) and various kinds of resources on the Internet. In line with this phenomenon, language teachers are required to understand instructional aspects of the Internet and know how to use Internet tools effectively for teaching purposes. Note: 1 This course is available through INTERNET DELIVERY ONLY. There are NO print materials for this course. 2 For details of the technical requirements and accessing Internet study materials, please consult the following URL: usqconnect.usq.edu.au
