Synopsis

This clinical course uses evidenced based practice within a Primary Health Care framework to enable students to further develop clinical competence at an advanced level. Content in this course focuses on child family health issues, specifically palliation of adults and children, rehabilitation and aged care. Students will also be required to demonstrate advanced standards of assessment competency. Students will complete 2 weeks clinical practicum in this course. This placement normally will be organised as one placement of two weeks duration during the academic year. Competence will be assessed using the Australian Nursing Federation's Competency Standards for the Advanced Nurse, and the Remote Area Nurse Competencies.
