Synopsis

THIS COURSE IS OFFERED IN ODD-NUMBERED YEARS ONLY. Topics covered in this course will include electronic structure, the chemistry of main group metals, transition metal and organometallic complexes including: coordination chemistry, oxidation states, stereochemistry, crystal field theory, magnetic and absorption properties, structure and reactivity, and aspect of catalysis using organometallic complexes. The course involves compulsory laboratory work.
