Synopsis

The aim of this course is to ensure that ethics clearance is obtained for the conduct of the research and that the research plan implementation is begun. In most instances (in both the dissertation and folio alternatives) this will involve some of the following activities depending on the nature of the study: the development and trialling of instruments, development of a sampling strategy, the refinement of research methods and techniques and collection of data in accordance with the proposed research gathering data. Students will work with supervisors in the conduct of their research to implement a methodology which will permit rigorous investigation of the topic.
