SynopsisThe historical development and role of art and illustration in children's literature will be studied along with the media and techniques used by illustrators. Critical study of the roles of and relationship between the illustrative and written text and the development of skills for social critical analysis of illustrative text will provide a further context in which to examine historical development, role, media and techniques of illustration.
