Synopsis
Major theories of political, social and economic development are analysed, with the relevance of these theories to Southeast Asia and East Asia being examined. The political development of Indonesia and Malaysia are used as case studies, with issues such as social and political change, ideologies, the military, political institutions and ethnicity being considered.
