Synopsis

Biochemistry is essentially the description of life at the molecular level. The chemical and physical nature of structures and functions within living cells is studied. This course allows students to develop an understanding of the major classes of biochemical compounds found in living organisms the metabolism of these compounds and control of metabolism, with a focus on human health. In the on-campus mode for this course, teaching content will be available on-line, whilst tutorials will be delivered on-campus as a 2 hour session per week.
